Prestashop 1.7.3: What’s new?
2 May, 2018
From Multiplicalia, experts in web design and search engine positioning, as soon as the first version of Prestahop 1.7 comes out, we tell you what new features brought us with that version. Recently launched the current version, Prestashop 1.7.3, we think it is very appropriate to tell you what they present us this time.
What’s new in Prestashop 1.7.3
One of the strongest points of Prestashop is that it is the perfect software to create a virtual store for businesses that have many products. It is not like other softwares, such as WordPress, which were created for another purpose (blog), but has been created specifically to be an operational, functional and efficient virtual store. Therefore, the first improvement they bring us is about stock management.
Improved inventory management in the new Prestashop 1.7.3
Keeping track of the products in our store is a tedious job. Especially when our store software does not make things easy for us. That is why the people of Prestashop have implemented the warning function for low stock, being able to leave it with the default configuration by product section or being able to configure the alerts individually. An improvement that will help us with our stocks, receiving a notification or email (or both) when this happens.
Another novelty is being able to change the amount of stock in block. That is, select more than one product and edit the quantity of existing stocks at the same time. Very useful if you receive a new order with a new product or if you stop selling certain products.
For some time now, European legislation requires ecommerce to provide the delivery date of their products when a customer is going to make the purchase. Prestashop 1.7.3 is not far behind and implements the function of showing it, whether the products are in stock or if they are exhausted, even if, still exhausted, it is possible to make a reservation of them.
All these changes and improvements by Prestashop aims to achieve more conversions (sales) in our virtual stores, since no one likes to access a store or market place and not know when their products would arrive.
Prestashop 1.7.3 jumps to the international world
Wait a second. Prestashop was already available in all countries. The change you have implemented is the writing compatibility function from right to left. Now, whether your online store resides in Arabic, Hebrew or Persian speaking countries or if you want to expand to that market, it is possible to configure your site for these languages.
What technical improvements come with Prestashop 1.7.3?
We are still able to migrate to Symfony 3.4, with the product catalog, performance and system information pages now available to do so.
In addition, they have implemented the UI Kit, a tool that modernizes the administration panel interfaces and module modules.
